The Goleta Education Foundation is thrilled to announce the success of the 2024 Lemon Run at Lake Los Carneros. With over 1,000 attendees, including 815 registered participants, the event raised an incredible $65,000—setting a new milestone for community engagement and support. Esteemed local leaders, including GUSD leadership, Mayor Pro Tempore Luz Reyes Martin, and other city council members, attended to show their unwavering support for public education and GEF’s work. It was a picture-perfect day, featuring food from local farms, Los Arroyos, Kona Ice, prizes from local businesses, and art activities for all ages.
GEF extends its gratitude to the local businesses, sponsors, and volunteers who made the 2024 Lemon Run a success. Special thanks to the John C. Mithun Foundation, City of Goleta, Allen & Kimbell, LLP, Raytheon Intelligence & Space, Chevron USA Inc. West Coast Decommissioning (WCD) Program, Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians Foundation, Montecito Bank & Trust, UCLA Health, and to the amazing parents, guardians, and community members who helped coordinate children’s activities, including art, crafts and face painting, led by GEF board member and artist Blair Looker.
