Snorkeling, kayaking, and hiking are some of the novel experiences sixth graders have at camp. Many have never been away from home or even put their toes in the ocean! Sixth grade camp is an unforgettable opportunity for students to learn and grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
The price for each student and chaperone to attend camp is $610 this year, and the District provides $155 per child to offset some of the cost. However, bus transportation is not included and costs about $3,200 per bus. These costs are often a burden to PTAs, school site budgets, and individual families.
Every child, no matter their socioeconomic background, can benefit from these once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Your donation of any amount will help make camp a reality for those children who would otherwise be unable to afford it.
